thanks for posting that! not the tallest guy, is he?

it's incredibly refreshing to hear he writes on guitar. I've been failing at writing tunes for years and years because I started with those fun soft synths and got nowhere. more recently I've started on guitar and bass and am finding it much more natural.

wife and I were at a restaurant, an early DM song comes on, I ask her if she can name it. she says, "that's Yazoo, no wait, that's Erasure, no, it's Depeche Mode, no it's..." Vince's style is that signature.

Tone, I hear you.

I sit at my old upright piano and work out simple chord sequences and/or strum a few chords on my trusty Guild D4. If I like something I'll switch on the laptop and record either(as audio using the room) with my Samson GoMic(best $45 I've ever spent). Later, I'll open up Live and then see what comes of it all. My startup template is ALWAYS 4 audio/4 midi with two returns. That's it. I like the forced constraint and I get stuff done.
