Windows XP. SP2. MAUDIO Profire 2626. Lots of clicking even at high buffer settings and low cpu consumption. Seems to happen as soon as an audio file is split to edit it. Consolidating edited file back together stops clicking. Had live 7 no issues with this. Live 8.1.1 is embarassing (was using in session with paying client. Does not matter what warp settings I have or even if warp is off. Auto Fades on/off problem still happens. What is interesting in 8 is if you play back say 4 bars before the "click" it may not click. Play back near where the "click" happens and it will just sound nasty.

This is my first post. I've been using since live 4. I know everyone is saying it but I can't wait for ableton to sort this!

You can hear the crackles, what I'm doing to cause these is to grab the border of the file browser pane and move it back and forth a long ways. Other things can cause the crackles, but this seems to do it most readily.

[edit] wrong URL, this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MU2k0Rh_rI

the best examples occur around 2:04. You can see at the start, I do this, but it does not crackle without audio going thru. There are also really good examples from about 3:59 on. I would do that specific time link thing in youtube but it is late, I'm tired and I have to go to the bathroom.

Love,
Mike

UPDATE:

My issue was resolved by consulting with Ableton Support

It was related to graphics, my thought is that the graphics rendering was taking up overmuch CPU and robbing from the audio processing. Adding the option "-ForceDirectDraw" to my options .txt file resolved this issue.

I had lots of clicks in a live 8.1.1 project (some random, some regular)... I've Changed all samples to Complex Warp mode instead of complex pro. It has removed all the clicks all of the sudden. I will never use Complex pro again :)
I hope this will work with some others.

Ableton, please do something...

Same here - Complex Pro is a total waste of time. And if Ableton dare release another version of Live as crap and full of bugs as Live 8, which has essentially been useless to me thus far - then they can kiss my sorry ass good bye. And 8.1.3 failed to remedy many of these serious issues. What was once a world leader in stability is now becoming a joke.

clicks and pop problem...

I THINK I HAVE IT!
I havn't read this whole post. so I apologise if someone has said this already.

In preferences>audio>latency>buffer size.
I dragged the buffer size al the way to 2048. (click apply)
then adjusted the 'driver error compensation' down/up so that the 'overall latency was at appx. 0.
This seemed to sort it for me (I hope).
(buffer size was the big problem, i believe. if it doesn't work for you try different numbers i.e not 2048)

I hope it works for you also.

Best,
Jackson

I think it's come from warp. When warp begin to eat CPU abviously clicks become audible even if the CPU has still rooms.
