Importing audio into Live 8
Importing audio into Live 8
I use Live 8 for songwriting. What type and brand of equipment do I need as a beginner to import voice and/or acoustic guitar into Live 8.1?
Re: Importing audio into Live 8
A microphone and audio interface. Virually and brand. It all depends on your budget and what you want to achieve. From professional quality to home enthusiast to low budget quality.

Thanx for your response, tlennon. I think starting out probably low budget, until I figure out what I,m doing. I do know however that you get what you pay for in most cases and at some point I am going to want to upgrade or even wish I had opted for something better from the start. I am definitely on a learning curve right now, but at some point I'm hoping to use it to help market my music. I'm definitely a novice at this type of music production. Cheers, Stan
Re: Importing audio into Live 8
I've been following the post called "Post your set up and your sexy cat..." in the General forum and I am amazed how nice they are and how much people spend on their setup. Then following the forum "Link you Music" and listening to some of the music they all produce, I can tell you it is all worth it. These people are incredibly talented. Take your time and research as much as you can. I'm sure you will be posting something soon. Cheers!

Re: Importing audio into Live 8
You can get anything you can imagine on the internet but I'm the touchy/feeling kind of guy for major investments. I've purchased from Sam Ash and Guitar Center here and in NY. I don't know what's available in you area. You should be able to do a search and locate one close to you then go down and check stuff out. You will usually find the sales people very informative and helpful. Chances are, they're musicians/mixers/engineers/students just like us.

Hey there tlennon. We had a nice little winter storm that knocked out my internet. Hope it's not headed your way! Thanx again for taking time to reply. I checked out your blog site----coool! I'm green with envy.
I am a little familiar with Guitar Center and will check out Sam Ash. I'll just start with the basics and go from there. Since I write both the lyrics and the music I thought I would like to have more than just a lead sheet to present with my music. Thanx again for your time. Have a good week. Stan

You're very welcome Stan. I'm always lurking and learning from the good folks here. Weather is fantastic here in NJ and I hope to hear from you on this site again.
Re: Importing audio into Live 8
I'm on the Sam Ash direct website now and realize that I know nothing about recording equipment. I think I will take your advice and contact them by phone or email and see what they suggest. Later, dude.
