A mate of mine used to work in an outdoor shop. One day a guy comes in, grabs four (expensive) tents from the shelf and buys them. The next week he comes back and asks to return them.

"Sure no problem" says my friend, "we can take them back, are they defective in any way?"
"No, not at all"
"Do you mind if I ask your reason for returning them?"
"Yeah, er... I was high when I bought them."

Most of my regretted itunes purchases were more based on recommendations from this forum where the people who did the recommendations were probably drunk or high because there's really no other explanation as to why they thought it was so great.

Generally my drunken purchases are things that I've been sitting on the fence about for quite some time but the alcohol tipped the scales of hesitation in favor of buying.

@Rave. I don't think a laser is a bad purchase but they are almost completely useless without fog or chain-smoking. Too bad they didn't have good consumer level lasers back when it was still legal to smoke in bars or clubs. That would have been a real money saver.
