When you select to play a scene, is it possible to stop one of the tracks from being launched?

Depends on what exactly you're trying to do.
The easiest way would just be to make a new scene and copy paste your clips into it. Otherwise, you can right click on the clip and hit "deactivate", but this will not allow you to play the clip until you reavtivate it. You could use follow actions too.

basically i have a live set, using my APC i can only see 8 tracks at a time, the 8th track is all one shots. I trigger scenes a lot, actually mostly. But the one shots are always in the way and get played along with the rest of the scene.
Im think the only soultion is to put them way down somewhere and use another midi controller to trigger them.
