Lemur + Max4Live + Mu = the ultimate Live controller?

At last I have to say: yes, it's not cheap, I know! But I don't get this complaining about.
I mean if someone in the past wanted to buy new gear, synths, etc. Man, there've been no software version.
You weighed up for your next investment. This piece of gear is all worth it. Nowerdays it feels like everything that
costs more than a dvd is too much; hey even on shitty iPhone Apps they're compaining about
the worth of it at 2,-€ ... Sorry I don't get it..! Puh.. now I feel bit better...

lemur: no video input, locked to internal system, 1024x800, 2000$.

in less than 6 month you get true monitors, not locked, hd 1920x1080, video in, imo 500$ (cf 3m, ipad ect). you can actually get dual touch for 200$, thats 10x cheaper

go if you're cresus, i personnallty prefer to wait and will enjoy the end of stantum/jazzmutant insane monopole soooo much.

screen size is far more important than screen resolution.

1024x800 is more than enough resolution for a touchscreen controller.

true, but one is relative to the other. 1024 is probably enough for a 12",
still, can get 20" 1920 unlocked for 10x cheaper...

don't get me wrong Mu is an amazing job, and lemur is a great device,
but that price range is out of date now, i wish them to quick advertise that and profit of their last moment of devil monopole price abuses, this will end shortly..

"normal" people will have access to that technology and that's a very good point.

as an exemple, i know i can get the same features with usine free and a 200$ multitouch (dual for now, but soon 10..),
and my screen can be used for other things. again, that's 10x cheaper and unlocked.

Now, how much of this would I get by combining a Lemur, Mu, Max4Live and Live 8? A lot of it I suppose, after watching the Mu videos and reading up a bit (no foot switches though, a shame). Anyone who's actually tried Mu?

The way this work ATM, there is a bank of template for each Live device but not for AU/VST yet.
So every single effect that you have loaded in your song or set is listed in the Device browser interface of MU(on Lemur screen), with its own object directly issue from the Jazzeditor object library, and compiled in templates for each of these Effects/Instruments.
I guess that with the final release of MU a tutorial will be available in order to customize these templates on your own and a load of them will most probably be provided by the community as well.

So yes pretty much everything of your list will be possible in the future.

actually hooking up a foot pedal board to your computer you would be able to send that to the lemur via max/m4l and control things that way

also what im more excited about than mu itself is whats inside

you can use program changes, notes, CC#s, what ever from what ever to dynamically load containers or even entire templates on the lemur

example - one clip sounds horrible when you mess with a filter with it, you can make it so that when that clip plays the filter controls disappear from your screen and give you space for another effect, also this prevents you from accidentally using the effect (slip of the hand or drunk decision)

OK, that's important info, thanks! Easy to setup VST/AU support is absolutely crucial for me. Has anything been said about the pricing of Mu? I can't seem to find that mentioned anywhere (except something about TBA on some blog).
