I am not opening 8 again until the version is truly stable. Right now Live 8 Suite is just a total POS. It's really a sad case of sheer stupidity with respect for the Abes. It's like being in the twilight zone of something. How do you release a product that just keeps getting worse? If Ableton does ANYTHING short of completely restoring their name by REPAIRING 8 from the ground up before going on to one other product or development, I truly believe they will be going out of business. No one can get away with selling anything where every single issue of their product is defective. I don't care how revolutionary their workflow environment is. I don't care who they are or what business they are in. It just doesn't work that way. After loosing a VERY valuable set Thursday evening, that was the last straw.

What I am just about ready to do I have been contemplating for the last 6 months. I am either going to purchase Cubase, Sonar, or Samplitude. I just can't seem to wrap my head around which one will work best for creative purposes.

stop bashing ableton, i have localized the source for you problems with Live8:

Yep, we can take it from this guy, he's a "pro"

Anybody, including the most diehard of ableton fan panties, that think's live is in a good place right now, is my hero. :D

So, what are we saying here? That because we agree with Gerhard, that there is most certainly an absolute quality/stability issue, that we are hack witch doctors? (what a racist photo) Live is in the toilet girls. Whether you want to play pretend barbies or not.

Also, so which is it? Live is just as good as any other DAW, or Live isn't fit to be a DAW? I guess it don't really matter cause the tune you fans are playing is just the same old monotonous cover version you always pretend is an original.

on my macbook 2go ram and 5400rpm hard drive, I had some crashs. Not that many, but some.

Now on my imac quad core 8go ram and 7200 RPM HD, I had I think zero crash in two weeks. I m really suprised by that, but so I ll would say that Live stability is directly related to the charge that the computer can handle.

It seems that whenever there is not enough ram or too much HD or CPU use, there is lots of chances that Live crashes.

I don't know what anyone else is saying, but what i'm saying is that since live 4 or 5 there have been twats like you crying about how horrible live is. I don't have the patience to attempt a conversation about it anymore, i just say go fuck off to some other piece of software and some other forum because i just don't care about you and your problems. I've got my shit worked out just fine, played a gig last saturday, no problems. I can surely make the fucker crash at home, but my live setup is streamlined and doesn't crash. been making electronic music enough that i know to save my shit regularly and in many many versions. so go ahead and cry, i'm too busy making music to give a shit anymore. and go ahead and call me a fanboy. I'm a fanboy that's writing music and playing gigs, not a douchebag that spends all their time creating anon accounts to troll this forum with pathetic whining.

well, well, well, listen to the high and mighty puff the magic drag queen. "I'm MR. Self important and my opinion means I am pro". I don't whine at all. Even though 90% of the posts I make are whiny little bitch fits with people that don't agree with me. I play coffee shops and donut clubs because I'm a fat little greasy bitch & i'm a pro too. I am a minimalist artiest, that's fancy lingo for I SUCK at music so I pretend I am a pro. What you ARE is a pathetic looser that is as talentless and meaningless a douche as it is possible to be.

That's because all you really are is a talentless LITTLE BITCH.

How is that guy owned? That was the worst come back I've ever read. Something from the pages of Fisher Price's internet come backs. Pg. 1 - type angrily and use as many spelling mistakes as possible to easily illustrate that you were pissed off by text. By text.

I have 8.1.1 on a Macbook(early 2007) using Tiger, it runs fine, maybe I've had 2 or 3 crashes. Maybe

I also run it on an iMac(early 2008) using Leopard, it runs fine. NO crashes.

Have fun using those shit programs. Tend to that blood dripping between your legs, it's embarrassing.....

spelling mistakes?

I thought you wern't that taken in by "TEXT" MR. "blood between your legs".

Text represent people's thoughts Confucius. I know that's deep and all, but maybe we could make that stretch once in a while eh?

...at least that's the case with most rational/intelligent people.

Incidentally, with the state of affairs being what it ADMITTEDLY is with RESPECT to and for Ableton Live, I wouldn't be too proud about boasting how your system doesn't crash when YOU use Live these days on it.

Seems to me a blatent minamalist's testimony if you know what I mean. You pretty much have to be the feeblist of audio minamalism not to get Live to crash frequently. That's OK, you go ahead and chill bro. We all deal with that blood differently.

BTW, since you think live is a "shit program", what software do you personally recommend?
