Post by jord peck » Tue Mar 23, 2010 10:38 pm

Hi, this is a super nooby question. How do I overlay audio in a single track? I've searched all over and can't find anything.... Thanks!

Do you mean more than one take when recording or are you talking about live looping?

say you want to record a vocal line several times to make it seem as if there were a whole big crowd singing but you don't want to record the same line into a million different tracks. you want to record one take then the next take then the next take and so on into the same track and have them all play in the same track at the same time. i remember bein able to do this with sonar version 1 way back when but i just can't figure it out in ableton. surely you can right? i hope...

thanks for the quick responses btw

You can't do that in Live tracks and neither does Live having comping. But you can do it with the looper.
