Sound engine better in 8 than 7?

Post by currentmusik » Wed Mar 24, 2010 12:58 pm

Hi there.

I haven't upgraded yet because live 7 have been working great for the last year(s), now, after trying out the one month free license for 8 i seem to notice a difference in the audio quality, any thought s on that? I would deffo upgrade immediately if thats the case.

thanks
robert

no difference.

although it comes with some dynamics plugins such as limiter and multiband dynamics and an extra timestretch algorithm complex pro (from elastique pro) which could sound better than the old complex algorithm for warping.

I'm still on 7 and happy.

Ok, thanks man, I was hoping for a more Logic approach from the Ableton crew..

Continuing with 7.

i think it sounds better.. acording to ableton all version of live sounded perfect from the start and therfore there has been no improovement in audio quality..

I however experianced a constant progress in soundquality with any version of Live...And i trust my ears much more than i trust ableton statements...These statements were often...not 100% accurat..to say it gentle. While my ears often have been prooven wright by later measurements.

So i say it sounds better.

beside that L8 offers a few more options to avoid the warping or run the session on a higher samplerate for mixdown....what again leads to a better quality on certain materials...

however..with all the issues of L8 and the problem that everything you create in L8 cant be played with L7 you might better stick with L7 for a while
