Hi all,
I did a search and found some old threads that didn't really help so I am writing this in hopes of your help.
When I cue a clip I'm hearing (& seeing in the meters) the audio in the Master 1/2 outputs in Live even though the cue is enabled on an individual channel. I shouldn't hear what is being sent to the cue (3/4) in the master output (1/2) correct? Here's the routing..
I set the output config in Live to support outs 1/2 and 3/4. I set the cue output in live to 3/4. In my Firewire 410 audio driver i set the headphone outs to 3/4.

Did you mute the track you want to cue?
Re: headphone cueing help for m audio firewire 410.
Nope that isn't how cue works.
Cue sends audio form the selected track to the assigned Cue out. It does not mute the track that you are cueing at the same time. If you want to listen to a track prior to dropping it into the main mix you have to mute the track prior to triggering it. once it is triggered you can use cue to listen to it. this allows you use your headphones to listen to tracks that are muted and you have not yet added to the master but it also allows you to isolate a track that is currently playing through the master and listen to just that without affecting the main mix.

Thanks Divonic for the advise. I didn't think you needed to mute the channel that you wanted cued before cueing. It seems to add a step that you should have to do in order to cue something........are you listening Ableton? Thanks, I hope it works....

You can always map a key or MIDI button to both the cue button and track button, and then flip the range on one. Then one key/button press will alternate between mute/cue and unmute/no cuedoubleeast wrote:Thanks Divonic for the advise.
