Of course if you buy some shit brand like Dell or HP its likely you will get cheap ass components. As far as overclocking a production machine...its not worth the potential stability problems on a production machine anyways imo. Maybe some people do it, but I wouldn't recommend it for audio.
Also on the price tip, I just bought a lenovo i7 laptop that I haven't had one audio glitch on, and that even runs all my games on high settings, for 1000 bucks. How much you think that macbooks gonna be when it comes out. When it comes out.
I just slap a mac sticker on the back of my laptop and call it a day hehe. We all know mac logos generate better music.
