my feature wishlist

1) mousewheel zoom!!!!! for heavens sake, why the hell there is no mousewheel zoom ???
its the fastest way to zoom ...

2) sysex support, i use hardware mainly, so SYSEX me up..

3)customizable ONE key shortcuts (those 3 keyshortcuts are slow and stupid)
all the functions you need all the time should be ONE key shortcuts
VitaminL did it well , for example ctrl+b is only H , and its nice cause you need it all the time.

4) better piano roll, it fuckin sucks!!! i hate to compose with it , for example reaper has lot
faster and better piano roll. it doesn´t use screen efficiently , "notes" and "envelopes" boxes should be below it, not on the leftside.. and you should have one key shortcut to show/hide it, and you should be able to move the cursor and add notes with keyboard ( maybe this is allready possible in 8 )

5) you should be able to crop midi clips, i hate it when i record some midi and i open the clip and it shows all the data i recorded and i just need like 4 bars of it, its hard to edit, hard to zoom to it ,zoom point seems to be allways somewhere is should not be..

5)more shortcuts overall for example you should be able to show/hide all the subwindows there is, with the one key , for example browser show/hide could be F9, clip F10, etc.etc. live should utilize more the whole keyboard, after all i think that most of live users still use mostly keyboard for editing etc.

it seems like reaper got it right.. it super fast to use , mouse wheel zoom ,customizable shortcuts,etc. etc. . but its not good for live use , so i have to struggle with these usabilty issues, seriously get your act together ableton team, its not too hard to make for example customizable keyboard shortcuts + mousewheel zoom... it would be a really big thing for powerusers!! and the main program could still remain the same.. only one little menu for poweruser needs!!!

oh and multicolored multiple envelopes on ONE TRACK (like acid/reaper) , i know they are not going to do this , but it would be better/faster to use than all the other solutions... i know they want to hang with this "minimal aesthetics" thing, but it should not affect too much for usability...
there should be more colors indeed in this software , it would be much easier to work with big projects (+50 tracks) .. for example you should be able to recolor you whole track, not just clips, it would make finding the right track much faster.. the GUI isn´t that bad actually, but you can´t really use it fast and effienctly now ... i can´t even switch to live8 because theres no VitaminL for it ..
