I second that. Who cares about polls? Tripe.

I voted for GarageBand.

i wish ther would be fruity loops for mac... i mailed them many many years ago and they said that its impossible because theire program is so much intel code related that the portation is not possible..

ok..we have intels now on macs.. where is fruity loops?

If they would be on the mac side they really would steal some of Lives thunder.

At least you would see it much more on stage as you do now..
Its actually pretty good for live sets

+1 ! My boy, was using this program years ago, (he's PC only). I was always amazed at some of things FL could do. The arp was sick. Nothing on the Mac comes close.

Yup, FL is an impressive application. You can use an Intel based Mac and Boot Camp to run it.

yeah I have an XL license too - I think the unlimited updates for life is a winner and it's a really amazingly powerful program for it's price.... even still I never quite got around to using it though ..... and now I'm on Mac

I think if they do make the Mac switch then they will definitely be a force to be reckoned with

Can anyone tell me if there is an actual "live sampling looper" in FL that has ALL the functionality of Live's Looper device?

This is what I upgraded four versions of Live for (and it's working great in 8.1.2b7), and if a program that calls itself "Fruity Loops" doesn't have it, then it's not worth my time.

I can give a rat's ass about which DAW is "on top" or is like a Ford or Porsche or Edsel.

you like the ableton looper? ??? ok.. good to know that there is one out there...

i dont know enough about fruity loops.. but it has it strong side in sequence creation...

ableton live is good for mangeling prerecorded material or build audio loops..
but not so strong in sequence creation... or better not very comfortable.. the tool you have is the midi clip editor.. and that it was.. except you are into goa trance and consider the apregiator fx a tool for sequence creation...

i actually still use an atari with cubase and c-lab notator together with ableton live to overcome that shortcomings,,,

actually a pretty strong combination.. i can recomend it... costs nothing theese days..

and my atari mega st is running since 8 month 24/7 without a crash or beeing out of sync...

moment.. i ve to check.. the monitor is switched off... ok..its still online..

I love theese fanless no harddrive computers.. studio ware

:-)) ...

only drawback.. you have to safe on floppy disks.. but seeing that all my floppys from the 80´s are still there..and most of them readable... while from mid 90´s to now all data that still can be accessed is the data on stored away harddrives and some quality cdr´s..while all selfburned dvd´s became unreadable after 5 years or so... at least the majority of them...

A floppy disk is not a such a bad place for sequence data

Yeah, I'm actually one of the strange ones who likes Live's Looper a lot. But I'm just as acoustic as electronic in my musical rig so that's probably why.

Even though I love and work with synth sounds, I primarily build layers with live looped acoustic frame drums and tambourines, finger cymbals and other physical percussion instruments then bring in Drum Racks. Also I'll often start a song (recording into Looper with bowed or plucked Turkish tanbur in a completely rhythmless and improvisatory fashion and trigger Drum Racks to come in completely in sync with the free rhythm tanbur loop. I'm pretty sure you can't do this in DP, Cubase, Garageband, Logic, Protools, etc . . .

I have yet to hear of ANY other setup where you could do this directly in one performance audio workstation except for spending a lot of money on a Kyma system and the Green Tea Looper Kit. So if FL Studio could do this with the functionality of the poor little step child of audio effect additions to Live 8, then cool: a backup. No word on a M4L Sooper Looper? Hmmm . . .
