Hi there, this might sound like a n00b question, but is there anyway to automate changes between different scenes (volume, arm instruments, fx on/off, impulse samples, etc.)
I am aware that I can automate this via midi tracks, but is there no simpler way to do it? (not that the midi way is very complicated, but I find it odd that there is no straight-forward way in ableton to do it)
Hope you can enlighten me...=)
Thanks in advance!

Re: Automation between scenes
Yeah, you are basically stuck with playing with the clip's automation. Something fun to play with though is 'dummy clips'. You just have to make sure you feed your audio to the channel that would have them on it.

YOU CAN !
Look for DUMMY CLIPS !

In 2 hour you can master this

Re: Automation between scenes
Hi, I can't find anything on "dummy clips" in the manual. I'll search the forum too, but if anyone can point me to some instructions, I'm trying to effect a live performance with automation envelopes.

It is actually not mentioned in the manual. It is a sort of exploit discovered a few years ago. The people at Ableton are aware of it, and I assume keep it in mind/intact with each version of Ableton Live. There is a lot of information on the internet about it.
