Uploading mixes and streaming them forever

Post by PLacidBasilisk » Sun Mar 28, 2010 9:28 pm

I've just started hosting a weekly ambient show on a local station and I'd like to make my mixes available after the show on my blog. The plan is to lay them down as mp3's and stream them. Currently I'm using My Data Nest for storage but there's a 2GB free limit and I'll pass that point after about 12 shows.

I'd like to keep all my mixes available but don't want to pay for storage. Are there any other spacier options or am I sh** out of luck?

P.S.

Tune in to me today at 10am GMT

There's not really anything to video. Don't think a stream of me sitting in a studio is going to excite MANY people.

ACtually, that's a great idea.

Another question though. If I want to convert them from wav to mp3, what's the best way to go about this?

Use Itunes...open Preferences and set your import settings to mp3 (after you have uploaded it as anything else in itunes). Then in one of the menus you will see an option to "convert to mp3".

...Soundcloud gives you 2 free hours of music uploads and then if you want more you have to sign up for a premium service. I think its 29 lbs/year (not sure what the conversion rate is these days for $$$). GL!

Yeah Bro,

Just make a podcast. All your fans can subscribe to it and it automatically downloads new casts every time you post one.

if you're still on a Mac, a good free option is Max:
