Hi Abes!
I've been experiencing a problem ever since I bought a APC40. Here is my setup:
Windows XP SP3
Ableton 8 Suite
Akai APC40
Akai MPK49
M-Audio Fast Track Pro
My setup worked fine when I didn't have the APC40. I could play synth lines on the MPK49 and record guitar through the Fast Track Pro at the same time. The APC40 works well in conjunction with either the MPK49 or the Fast Track Pro. The problem is when I try to connect all 3 of the devices up (at the same time), Ableton won't load. It just gets frozen at the little pop up window before the program loads (after it has done all the scans, and is attempting to load a new set).
I have tried changing the order of turning on the devices, before loading the program, but this has no effect. I have also tried turning the Fast Track Pro on while in a live set (with the MPK49 and APC40 already working) and when i change the Audio preferences from ASIO4ALL to M-Audio Fast Track Pro the system crashes and I get a blue screen of death.
Finally, I have tried deleting all the MIDI keys in my registry with M-Audio's MIDI Fix program, and reinstalling my essential components (in case it had something to do with the 10 device limit in windows) but this had no effect on the problem.
Please help me! While i can survive like this for recording (just by swapping around) it interrupts my creative flow, and will not help when I want to perform live!
Thanks very much,
Hugh Francis
