Easiest way of transferring Live from one mac to another.

I've got a macbook pro with Live 8 installed and I've got another mac that I want to use as my permantant music machine. What's the best way of transferring all my Live stuff over?

I would personally, re install everything from scratch on the new machine and then simply copy and paste your projects over (assuming you have done a collect all and save on them)

It's good to have a second 'working' machine, you never know what may happen to one of them

You can copy your library from the old machine to the new machine. Reinstalling everything can take hours/days. So long as you have your library database built in your user profiles, you're fine. On PC, this is in your profiles directory, at the same level as your unlock key directory. No need to reinstall the library on PC at all. Not sure how that'll work out with you Mac fairies, but I suspect it shouldn't be all that different.

If the mac you're looking to transfer Live to is a new mac with nothing on it, there is an option during the setup of a freshly formatted mac that will essentially allow you to clone everything from your old mac to the new one, usually via firewire or ethernet.

The other way to do it is to turn off your laptop, connect it via firewire to the other computer, and then hold down "T" when you turn your laptop back on. This puts your laptop in "transfer mode", and basically turns the laptop into a large firewire drive that pops up on your other mac's desktop. Once it pops up as a drive on your other mac, you can drag and drop everything from your laptop to your other mac.
