Yes it was a terrible terrible movie! Fortunately I had no expectations of quality whatsoever so I wasn't too disappointed. The CGI allowed me to make it through it's 2.5 hours of bloat. I have never cared less about characters tragically dying. A real shit heap.

this is the thing, I knew it wouldn't be good and more or less just got it for the special effects, but what really amazes me with things like this is when they clearly have a decent sized budget, the absolute bottom of the priority list is paying a writer or two with even the vaguest hint of sense.

How they can invest so much time and money and apparently really genuinely not see how bad it is is bewildering.
