Problem with Ableton Live 6 - Not rendering files

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my version of Live 6.0.11 on my Mac, which until recently was working fine without any problems (for over 2 years).

I recently upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard and was a bit disappointed to find that Ableton kept crashing.
So I reverted to Leopard OS. It works fine again now, apart from one thing. I get a message saying
"Index failed: attempt to write a read only database" when I try to render a file.

Ableton then kind of hangs, the pop up box for "Render To Disk" remains, you can click cancel but it does nothing
and you have to force quit Ableton and then restart.

I can save clips and the project itself etc. I get a similar error message sometimes but it then works.
Its a fully licenced version just in case anyone asks.

Any ideas of how to fix this would be much appreciated.

You have a broken index file - please send me your Log.txt from
/User/Library/Preferences/Ableton to [email protected]
I´ll reply and tell you what to remove from where in order to get running again.
