Hey there folks,
I’ve hit a bit of a dead end when it comes to figuring out an easy way to load presets for a softsynth live without having to use the computer mouse.
At the moment I’ve saved all the presets (by way of the save button on the Ableton VST box thing) into the one folder which, while not being horrendously inconvenient, causes breaks in an otherwise seamless set.
I’m running Ableton 8.1.1 with an APC40 and Novation 49LE. The main softsynth used is the Arturia minimoog.
The main problem seems to be that the areas concerning the banks and presets are not MIDI mappable but I’ve got a feeling that there’s a simple solution somewhere.
Any suggestions?
Loading Synth Presets via MIDI Controller?
Re: Loading Synth Presets via MIDI Controller?
I've been using dummy clips with preset bank changes in them. Part of the midi allows you to select bank, sub-banks etc...
Some synths do not allow this feature though and more often then not you only get numbers (not proper preset names).
I'm pretty sure they can also be changed with midi cc's, NRPN's though not had any firm success as yet...

banks are changed with midi data usually msb - lsb data 0-127 per bank. I havent checked with live so much on this but i use this feature on the mv and with other softsynths.
