btw I'm not trying to be argumentative, just trying to figure out what's going on :D

lol. Well, we shall see. I did a bit of digging and the actor has commented that Dogan has been on the island for about 20yrs. Could be incorrect, but that sounds about right. And when did Little League start in Japan? heh.

I actually wanted this guy to be old. Like, SHOGUN old.

Oh, and how the fuck did the Black Pearl smash into the top of the statue? A giant wave? Hah!

Thought he was written out. Now he clearly has a pivotal role to play. Sweet.
Between all the time travel, sideways storylines, switching sides and not knowing which is good or evil, deaths and then reincarnations or possessions, I am no longer amused by the return of…. Ironically these are the reasons I stopped watching Heroes a season or two ago but yet I continue to soldier through Lost.

One of the reasons I'm liking this season is each episode seems to mostly be self-contained and not too much goes off in a completely different direction and there isn't a lot of things you are completely confused about if you're not a walking encyclopedia of past events. There's still those elements but nothing to the extreme like past seasons.

What really pissed me off last night is they stopped showing the previous week's episode with the factoids at the bottom of the screen and instead they're airing Dancing With The Stars. Year after year is proving that TV program directors and executives are outsourcing their jobs to dart boards.

Desmond is the only character who can be in-between worlds. He also survived the electromagnetik blast which was released, causing the plane to go down. What remains to be seen is how he will contain the black smoke.

Also, this season is far from good vs. evil. For one, I don't believe smokey is all bad, and I don't think Jacob is all that good. Rather, this season is about balance, yin-yang. The complexity is still there, but the arcs are now coming to a close. That doesn't make it simplistic, but it does provide a much-needed denouement. With 6-7 years of being used to everything up in the air all the time, I can see how resolution can feel simple, but it's most certainly not. Loving every moment right up to the end.

Neb. I like that you incorporated the word 'denouement' into your post. Well done!

And yes, I think there's a lot of grey area in these two *cough*Egyptian God*cough* characters.

^ I like to use that word whenever possible. Especially after intercoursing. For example, "Your climax was excellent, but your denouement, not so much."

On another note, Flash Forward is a show that's totally kicking my ass. I thought it was really going to blow, but damn it's great. The 2hr spring opener: 8O

All I know is that I want the last episode(s) of Lost to marry the science and hocus pocus in a brilliant way. We should discover:

That the island is a nexus point between dimensions - or holding worlds together (ala the Beams in the Dark Tower books).

That Jacob discovered this place and realized it was the perfect prison for The Man In Black.

That Dharma and the Others/Widmore discovered the island as well - as had many before them - and tried to harness whatever power existed there. Whilst getting in the way of the machinations of Jacob (bringing people to the island as some kind of test of humanity or whatever/finding his replacement/etc/etc).

That Jacob and The Man In Black are part of an ancient race of beings (ala Lovecraft).

The ingredients are all there to make this happen.

I just don't want this to slink into where I think it's going; mystic soup SHIT; where these two characters are God and the Devil (or the basis of that mythology).

*yawn*

I'm really liking Spartacus on Starz. It started out kind of meh the first couple episodes but then got all daaaaaaaamn. Plus there's an irresponsible amount of sex and boobies.

Seen some clips. Looks cool. Ever seen Rome? Is Spartacus on that level of quality?

Yeah, just like Rome after the first couple episodes with all the politics and back stabbing. Plus the added element of Gladiator meets the film stylings of 300.

Rome was way too bloody for me. Something about the blood in 300 that doesn't seem like real blood so it's more glamorized violence - totally fine with that. But the blood in Rome was so real...hard to watch...

Didn't care for Spartacus after the first ep, but now that you mention boobies, I'm so there.

You really have to give Spartacus a 2 or 3 episode viewing before you just discount it. Most super fans agree. I kind of felt the same way about Rome.

They walk that thin line of initial character development so you'll give a shit about people later on and moving things forward so you aren't completely bored off your ass. This is kind of difficult with epic series. They kind of failed at both on the first episode or 2 of Spartacus but now I end every episode with a sense of excitement or shock and can't wait for the next.
