multiple livesets on mac

Post by andreasfr » Wed Nov 26, 2008 8:56 pm

Hi.

I've searched the forum without luck, so I'll just ask my question instead.

Last time I checked, the PC version of Live could have multiple livesets open at once. I'm on a mac and when I open or create a liveset, Live closes the set that's allready opened.
Am I mistaken/dumb or is there an explanation for this?

Thanks,
Andreas

I think you're mistaken. Even on PC I don't think you can open multiple sets in one instance of Live.

However, on both platforms I believe you can open multiple instances of Love at once and do it that way.

Yeah, that's why I keep all previous versions on the computer, it's saved my ass in a pinch.

I've got 7.05, 7.07, 7.09, 7.0.10, and 7.0.12 on there. Hardly takes up much room, and multiple instances open runs just fine on my lappy. That's my workaround.

No need to keep multiple copies of older versions, just use the Terminal to open a new instance of the same application using the open command with the -n flag

open -n /Applications/Live\ 8.0.9\ OS\ X/Live.app

aha.. 8-7

and what is with the prefferences? do they share one pref´s file ?

i lately run into problems with the so called dedicated controlers..they are very much "dedictated" and ther is no function that allows to have them only active in the foreground..
