Hi all.
I will for sure buy one of these Ableton controllers, (not decided which one ...yet)
but i wonder how they work with other midi programs.
Are there any drivers needed, or are they plug and play ?
Does any of these controllers appear as a generic usb-midi device (without drivers)?
Eg. for the launchpad I've read that i have to install automap. Is this really necessary ?
What happen if not ? does not the LP (or Apc) just send simple midi messages to programs with midi learn ?
And if yes, what happen to the matrix Leds and lights if used with other programs ?
No leds at all, all leds on, all off ? or what..
User modes/banks ? are they working to allow several sets of buttons/knobs ? or is it just one set/bank for every controller ?
And i've read something like "generic mode" for the Apc.
From the Apc20 quick guide :"APC20 can also be used in "generic mode" as a
controller with other virtual DJ applications that use MIDI protocol"
How to activate this mode, is there a special button combination, or is this done automatically ?
Well i know these are a lot of questions, and i wish i had the choice to test the units myself but i not !
