maybe I was wrong?!
someone wrote at KVR: "..And for those who have difficulties with dongles you can use the soft Elicencer method, ie no dongle but dependant on your PC specs ( A bit like C/R btw but without response needed"
I have never tried it - because I prefer the hardware dongle.

looking at their website, they both look like dongles to me because you have to pay them 12 bucks to get the eLicenser.bdhm wrote:maybe I was wrong?!

I believe that the person who posted that was later corrected though by Xavier of Xils.bdhm wrote:maybe I was wrong?!

Too bad about the dongle, seems like a fine sounding instrument and it's getting some great reviews.

been trying the XILS 3 demo... wow, the dongle free demo is pretty obnoxious regarding limitations. lengthy audio drop outs every 10ish seconds, no midi control, zero presets ... really hard to get a feel for what kind of sounds are capable before getting annoyed and moving on to another synth.
From what I did hear though, sounds good, I'll give the dongle demo a go in a few days - that one is simply time limited

If you want a dongle free version for cheap, pick up the audiomidi version:dum wrote:been trying the XILS 3 demo... wow, the dongle free demo is pretty obnoxious regarding limitations. lengthy audio drop outs every 10ish seconds, no midi control, zero presets ... really hard to get a feel for what kind of sounds are capable before getting annoyed and moving on to another synth.

20 bucks. Same features as the initial Xils-3 release. So it's missing the new features added in 1.1 and it won't be updated. But for 20 dollars, a pretty good pick.
