Latency problems with NI Machine in Ableton Live. Help!

When I'm using the NI Machine hardware, I always make the latency compensation from Live out, in order to have no latency on the pads!
This may not be the final solution, right?
Have you even those latency issues with NI Machine (or the virus Ti) in Ableton Live?
How do you deal with it? Postings would be great.
I worked with a newer Lenovo Thinkpad + Win XP + RME Hammerfall and am not a beginner (Soundcard Buffersize).
