what guitar effects do you use?
what guitar effects do you use?
what guitar effects processor do you use?
Re: what guitar effects do you use?
hardware or plugins?
Amplitube gives me more instant gratification than Guitar Rig 4, Revalver was pretty tasty, but what I really want is Softube's stuff. Too bad iLok rears it's dongly head.
TAL Dub II is a nice delay, and Aether makes most things sexy.
Outside the computer, I only have a Maxon GT-OD overdrive into the input for when I want to abuse those Eurotubes 12AX7s and get a nice boost
Plus the Thermon allows you loop in the effects loop tube as an extra gain stage, and it sounds the sexy. I'm pretty minimalist when it comes to live playing.

Hardware.
What about Zoom pedal or Digitech? have you use one of these?

Re: what guitar effects do you use?
I'd choose Digitech over Zoom, pound for pound they give you more effects and all.
I'm using a Boss GT 8 right now and TBH I think the Digitech (RP 150) which was much cheaper, sounded just as good, and easier to program.
It's always best to pick and choose each effect but can't go wrong with Digitech, Zoom's are nice, but always sounded too proccessed for my tastes, while the Boss has some nicer amp sims of the three.
I also have Guitar Rig 4, but not something I'd depend on for live shows, and even going into a 4/12 cabinet, the response isn't right, but cool for recording.
Stop and think about it and I miss my little digitech pedal....

Re: what guitar effects do you use?
If you can find any of Zoom's analog distortion pedals (HL-01 Hyper Lead, TM-01 Tri-Metal, and an overdrive I forget the name of) they're the best stompbox distortions I've ever used. I got rid of mine, but miss them for low-volume, non-tube amp playing.
I'm not much of a fan of any other Zoom product.

Re: what guitar effects do you use?
Often: Fulltone OCD distortion, Moogerfooger analog delay & MURF (always on, almost inaudible, thickens things up), Elecro Harmonix Holier Grail reverb.
Occasionally: E.H. Big Muff & 2880 looper, ZVex Fuzz Factory, Fulltone Full-Drive overdrive, Crybaby 535Q wah (adjustable freq. sweep), Ebow, Line6 DL4 delay.
Software: Soundtoys effects, occasionally use various compressors. Have a bunch of amp sims, never use them.

Re: what guitar effects do you use?
I have a zoom g9.2tt that I just got and thought it had FAR better sounds than the Boss, Line 6, or digitech pedals at the same price range ($300). Natural tube compression, 2 expression pedals, 100 patches and w/in each patch you can go into 'manual' mode and use 2 cab/amps, 2 modulations, 1 delay, and 1 reverb. I now go DI and have ditched my pedal board and tube amp for this one pedal and have no regrets.

since you dont have money you could dl one of the many amp sims out there, create some presets with lives racks, then use a qwerty keyboard as an on off switch for your patches.
i prefer using software sims over using something like a line6 pod because you are free to change effects after you have recorded your guitar.
when it comes to controll i prefer a floor unit.
The Push / Novation Launch Pad / Novation Launch Pad Pro / Novation Launch Key
/ Launch Control XL / Machine MkII / Machine Studio / BeatStep / Livid OhmRGB / Livid Code V2 / Apc 40 MKII
no computers or synths
20 Copies of Ableton Live Lite.
