Vocoder in Reason is kinda neat...

well... one way is to have the drums act as both carrier and modulator (ie both inputs to the vocoder) this gives a very distinctive yet abstract sound. then playing around with the vocoder settings can often yield useful stuff for layering under the drums/perc.

adding crazy eq. or filtering, or even sometimes even overdrive/distortion to the input signal before it hits the vocoder can also yield good results, in the case of overdrive the extra upper freqs give the vocoder a wider spectrum to work with.
