Serial Number for 8.1.3 RC
Serial Number for 8.1.3 RC
How do I register the Release Candidate? It is asking me to register the software. I tried to run the 30 day trial of Live Intro, but it would crash everytime I started it. I thought I would try out the RC to see if it operates better with Windows 7.
Thanks,
Tim

I dl'd and installed it but its asking me for authorization...ShelLuser wrote:Under normal circumstances you shouldn't need to register it afaik.
I simply downloaded it, installed it into a new location, ran it, done. The license section tells me its authorized, no need for further action.
But yes; you probably need a valid Live license I guess; dunno about that.
Re: Serial Number for 8.1.3 RC
You need to buy Live 8 if you want to use the RC...
Re: Serial Number for 8.1.3 RC
so any live 8 serial will work?
Re: Serial Number for 8.1.3 RC
If you own Live you can use the RC.
If you're using cracked versions anyway then whatever problems you've got, you deserve.

I'll still find a correlation!

I imagine lots of folks here are using cracked versions...UKRuss wrote:If you own Live you can use the RC.

This is why we need a registered user section. It is so simple to download a cracked version of live and then come over hear and talk about the problems folks are having with the software making problems with live 8 seem worse.
I have no ethical problem with what kids do cause some will end up buying the software, but it would be nice to have another area so we can know that folks have legit software and we can narrow down bugs easier.

Thats actually a really good idea. Have you brought that up to an Admin?HeadrickProductions wrote:Faldoe wrote:I imagine lots of folks here are using cracked versions...UKRuss wrote:If you own Live you can use the RC.

Finaly, it will end with a private forum for licensed users.
I know it's not the best, but yes I strongly agree with the idea of a specific PRIVATE section for users that want to narrow down bugs with efficiency

Re: Serial Number for 8.1.3 RC
I think it was Tone def who said that it's been brought up many times but will not be implemented. I like the way Props has it to where folks who want to learn about the software (whether just asking questions about the product or are crack users can feel free to poke around) can go to the general section. The folks who are registered users can go to the Users forum. I find myself asking serious questions in the user forum and just talking garbage in the others.
A non registered user is still allowed to make feature suggestions as well as share their music with the forum. They just don't have access to the User forum. They really are no missing out on that much. Lots of people will cross post but not in an obnoxious way. If folks have new tutorials they will let everyone know.
I think it is the way ableton should shift to once they get the "bridge" up and running and they get some more registered users (aka some income for all their work). Then they should put it into the site and hiring folks just like any business reinvests money to improve quality and in the long run generate more revenue.
Edit: just thought of this. At the very least we should just have an icon next to our names that shows what software is registered under our name. for instance I just have ableton 8 so that would be next to my name. If I upgrades to suite of bought max those would then go next to my name.
That will help weed out who to listen to. What I mean is if someone is blaming all crashes on maxforlive and they don't have the icon then you know their full of it.
I think this would be a cheap and effective way to save everyone alot of B.S.
