Problems with Novation X-Station and Ableton 7

Post by tribe9 » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:14 pm

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Here's my issues...

I am sending midi notes to the X-Station using External Instrument and recording the synth back into Ableton through my Firebox. The problem is that my X-Station is resetting the synth patch every time I stop and start the midi clip. If I engage midi overdub this does not happen but ableton then records all the parameter changes I make while tweaking the synth sound. How can I change the settings so my patch does not get reset when I start and stop the clip and still be able to tweak the X-Station synth parameters without having them record within the clip??

Another issue is that my sync seems to be jittery...when i have an arpegiated synth sound running from the X-Station, the syncopation of the patch varies during playback in ableton. Usually at the beginning of the clip, the syncopation with slow down or speed up from it's orginal setting and then return to normal for the rest of the clip length. Not sure what's happening here...

I did not have these issues until recently and am wondering what I can do to fix it.

Something to note is that my X-Station midi changed names from "X-Station" to "2-X-Station" after trying to run my launchpad on the same computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled the MIDI and USB driver for the X-Station and nothing seemed to change.

I am running windows vista

any ideas??
