Midi output of Automation to BCF2000 behaves undesirably.

Post by Twigg » Wed Apr 07, 2010 10:04 am

When I record some automation with the BCF2000, and then play the automation back, the BCF2000 will normally move the faders to to right spot as the automation plays back.

However the behaviour now is that once the automation has stopped jumping around for ,say 500ms, only THEN will ableton output to the BCF2000. This is apparent by the midi out indicator light on the top right of Ableton, also by the movement of the faders.

Have i set something in Ableton that I'd like to undo?
Ableton almost appears to want this behaviour, but I can't see a very good reason for it. If ABleton can record that much data then surely it can output that much data.

hi Twigg,

did you find a solution for this? this happens with my bcr2000 and novation nocturn also. i have posted this as a possible bug but received no feedback from ableton. in my setup the parameter (midi) output starts to behave normally if you change the according value in live with mouse and push the "back to arrangement" after this. but this does not fix the original problem.

pretty annoying, trying to use bcr in mackie emulation mode but this keeps me from doing it.

cheers.
