good source of white noise.

Post by eggnchips » Tue Apr 06, 2010 10:30 pm

Any good tips for producing white noise swooshes like on herad on techno? I use it a bit myself for buildups/background sweeps and extended hihat hits but find Operator white noise sounds a bit harsh. Maybe I'm not putting enough effort into getting it right.
Some of the smoother swooshes in techno tracks are great. Tips appreciated.

I use Operator, I usually use both the filter in Operator and combine w/ an Autofilter.

If not, the Covert Operators did a white noise tutorial and I believe they posted a sample that was perfectly ready to go to throw in Simpler.

Simpler
if you had EIC [Essential Instruments Collection], you'll have a White Noise waveform to play with. That + autofilter = win.

If you have an old CRT, try samnpling that!!

I mostly use the Operator in Ableton and the ES2 in Logic to create my white noise.
