groups loads of tracks and midi controlers

Post by allanaceflyer » Sat Apr 10, 2010 10:25 am

The song I've been working on has a lot of tracks in about 50, a lot of these are individual midi drum tracks bass drum snare high hat on a seperate midi track audio keyboards, guitar etc. So to keep it all under control and viewable I grouped the tracks into midi drums, keyboards, guitars vocals etc but when your using a midi controler such as a zero sl (but most are the same) that steps through the track in 8's it gets very complicated to see where your up to as you open and close the groups as the controler steps in 8's. Usually I would not have so many tracks and just step through the tracks in 8's. Just wondering how your dealing with this?

I was thinking of just sending the group tracks to 8 tracks I will make at the start of the project so I would have overall control of the volume of the groups and just use the mouse to adjust the levels within the groups.
