Yeah - we got a lot of people saying that.... if we go with Quicktime - we get a lot of complaints from Windows users... obviously we cannot go purely Windows Media as OS X users cannot play Windows Media files. So we go with a cross platform player that uses Adobe Air and we get complaints about that... no matter what format we use somebody we be unhappy with it.kitekrazy wrote:I have it. I usually prefer the videos from groove3. My major complaint about the SWA video is that it uses that Adobe Air crap. I have a separate drive for videos. Air just installs the video, adding a gig to your OS drive, doesn't give you a choice.
Sony does the best tutorial videos for their products. They have the projects for you to load.
Quicktime would be our first choice as people could simply place the file anywhere on their hdd and watch it - or import it to their iTunes lib and even have chapters.... but again we get loads of Windows user complaints.... we are thinking that we will go with a straight up Windows Media version for Windows users and a Quicktime (m4v) for OS X users. Windows users should take note that Windows Media files DO NOT support chapters... so they would have to scroll through and navigate the video manually.... Quicktime does support chapters (quite nicely I should add).
Oh and just to add.... as posted in the original post - we have for this video gone to the above mentioned format.... Windows Media file for Windows and and Quicktime for OS X users... and were able to save some space and make the downloads smaller. Something we most likely being doing in the future.
Just to recap.... this offer ends on April 30th.... after that the video will be removed from our catalog.
Cheers,
Chris
