Only just seen the thread.
i live next to leeds and can honestly say that there is no scene no more, scene meaning underground spots playing underground music, there is however lots of look at me i want my five minutes of fame djs in leeds who all share each others music and play at each others commercial nights,
back to the thread- or we really will be here all day.
i would love it if a group started up for some intresting chats and jam sessions in the yorkshire area.
iam intrested in meeting ableton users from all backgrounds too not just the ones who use it for djing.
iam pretty sure there is some artists in yorkshire who compose there songs and then jam with ableton-

SO LETS SEE YOU
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY

LETS JAM!!

Hey guys, why not suggest something to keep it going?

I've been in New York for the past week, but I'm still game to meet up with fellow Live users. What suits everyone? Weekdays, weekends?

Sweet, that's 5 :)

Here's my plan. I'll let this thread roll for a week or so more, just to let as many people as possible see it, then start suggesting dates. I'm thinking late April, early May. As soon as we've agreed on a date I'll make an 'official' thread, which will hopefully pick up a few more northern, Ableton-using monkeys

In the meantime, if anyone has any preferences about time of week for meeting, or any suggestions for venues, pipe up!

Not fussed as long as it's in (or reasonably near) town and United aren't on telly ;)

Leeds is a fricking ace city. I was born there and lived there until 10 years ago. Love the place, love the people. Although it suffers a bit from having an overload of posh Home Counties students ... Leeds is the new happening place, the financial centre of The North, Harvey Nicks and all that biz.

Much better than Scumchester. Actually, Manchester is fine too, and they have the student problems as much as Leeds.
Real Mancunians support City and they're alright  The days of Madchester and the Hacienda are long gone though, the club scene was still OK the last time I went there, a few years ago.

I don't know what happened to Leeds club scene, it had a pretty great club scene in the 90s, but it's true that it has always been a big city for indie/alternative rock more than dance music. Some people consider it the home of Goth and hang around outside Andrew Elditch's house like a shrine - sad f*ckers :P
