Dummy clips for Return tracks.

Post by distaudio » Mon Apr 12, 2010 12:59 pm

I'm assuming it can't be done, but there is surely some type of work around.

I basically want to have dummy clips for sends that run the whole length of a track (whole song) and have a mic in to one of the audio tracks so I can process the audio to the send tracks. Or some arrangement like that.

I've gone thru it in my head a few times and had a play around with a few things. (ie chains in audio effect racks) But I was wondering if anyone has any success in this using another method.

Thanks.

Return tracks can't run clips. Though pretty much the only difference between a Return track and an audio track is the Send. Either route your audio to an Audio Track with Dummy Clips or route it to an Audio Track from a Return Track if you wish to use the Send.

I manage to do it by running my return tracks back into ordinary tracks, and they become the new return tracks. Then I just colaps the regular return tracks and forget about them.

Brilliant.

That is what I was looking for. Sounds perfect.

Thanks
