IPad controller apps (list them!)
Re: IPad controller apps (list them!)
Ok - the OSC app is actually pretty easy. I never spent much time with it with the iphone because of the size of the iphone. Now with the Ipad it peaked mu curiosity enough to give it a try. Within 10 minutes I had it controlling Ableton. Within 30 I was designing my own controllers. Which is a dream compared to the stack of controllers (paperweights now) I've collected over the years trying to create the ultimate set up.
Still not a huge fan of the glass surface vs. knobs but I'm getting used to it.
And compared to the $1500+ cost of lemur its a bargain. Considering I didnt even buy the Ipad for music in the first place.
check my video - pretty simple instructions. Let me apologize now. this is my first video and I'm no expert.

good luck.

We no longer have to just imagine. It's already here:baltazar wrote:Imagine Ableton Live full Automap support + Automap for iPad
LiveControl for TouchOSC
Full automap to Live including the red box around clips like Launchpad/APC, feedback of clip names in session view clip launcher along with playing/recording state, feedback of names of devices and parameters, step sequencer where you can zoom in/out for different step resolution...etc.

And it doesn't even need OSCulator or Max4Live (which is another $300 required purchase if one looks into using the similar Mu patch on the overpriced Lemur, just as comparison). All you need is a $5 TouchOSC app if you already have a iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. And no need to do any mapping.

Waiting for the €uro release.. And some decent DAW-like software for making music on the go!

Not goodbye yet. LiveControl for TouchOSC doesn't have just a generic 'grid' which would nicely take the place of User1 and User2 on the Launchpad. It's badly needed. Then it'll be goodbye LP.

I've already sold my Launchpad because of LiveControl and now just waiting for my iPad. I already have instant-mapping to Drum Rack covered when needed via the LiveMaschine template on Maschine. Anyway, User1 and User2 can and will be done on the iPad whether through TouchControl or another controller app, just as Monome apps already work on the iPad. It's inevitable.
