dim too bright leds

Post by baseinstinct » Tue Apr 13, 2010 12:59 am

how to do that?

I want to put my nocturn on a bookstand, so that it is more easily accessible and the knobs do not cover the front leds but then the leds appear too strong. would a longer usb cable do?

Any other trick?

only proper way would be to crack it open and install larger value resistors between the LED and the V+

if you're talking about the rotary LEDs, that might be difficult depending on the package they're in, but still doable.

why not look into getting a tinted sheet of overlay plastic and covering them... possibly just cut out little discs with a hole in the center, pop the knob off and slip the tint on and replace the knob or something to that effect.

tinted sheet of overlay plastic - seems like a precise description. I'll look for such item (I hope they exist).

Having no basics in eclectronics - I had better not open the box.
