I might wait until they show up in the refurb section...

What are your specs, Tarekith?

Looking forward to your full report!

Got the i7 15", regular screen. The hi-res option just means faders and what not in my music apps will be even smaller, so I kept the standard glossy display. The unibody compared to the last gen's is awesome, this thing feels like a chunk of metal, no flex at all.

Very happy, this thing is FAST. I haven't even ran any tests, just installing software is so much faster. This rocks, very happy.

Intense Mojo claims the new MBP's are quad-core. Apple claims that they're dual-core.

I think I'm going to have to go with Apple on this one:

http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/performance.html
two cores and 4 threads i.e. 4 cores for the i5

two cores 8 threads for the i7
Not quite.

Both processors are 2 cores, 4 threads.

The i7 is a 620m, mot the 720.

Here's a comparison of all three porcessors they are using for the different specs, 520m, 540m, and 620m.

I am wondering about the CPU power of the fastest old model (Core2Duo 3.06 GHz) in comparison to the Core i7 2.66GHz of the new models.

Any idea which one will win the CPU benchmark test?

And it was one of the first who enabled videoediting on a laptop, was black, had two hotswapable bays for batteries or drives, two firewires, vga and shvs out and a pcmcia slot. Ahead of the time like once C= Amiga was.

But as the history tells: the good does not always win.
I freq use 4pleasure: Mac10.6, Arkaos GrandVJ, Adobe CS, Live8Suite, FCP, Miniak, Xio+V-Station, Trigger Finger, Nanok, Audio Cubes, Mouthorgan,...
