Trying to get VST plugins to work wiht LIVE 6.. STUCK here :

Might sound stupid but.. I'm on LIVE for 5yrs and still have not used any VST !! ..

so last nite I got a few ... some freewares on zip folders

Here all my steps :

1 Unzipped them
2 I see the VST's files, .dll
3 Went to the preferences and swicthed the VST setting to ON...
4 I created a VST Folder

then ..

I get stuck when I dbl-click the plug-in and it asks to "choose an application" ... I assumed the app. would be Ableton/ LIVE etc but no luck.. Also I see the Plug-device browser but I am not able to get plug-ins in that thing ..

What am I doing wrong ??

all you have to do is make sure Live is reading from the correct plugin folder by setting whatever the plugin folder location is in Live's VST folder (preferences) and either close down Live and re-open, or press {rescan} and Live will add those plugins and they will become available when you click on the plugin icon.

I just keep all my plugins in the standard C://Program Files/VSTPlugins folder which is my directory for Live, Cubase, Reaper, Renoise and Soundforge.

Thanx, but I still cant get them to be recorgnized in the Plug In browser... WHY ?? her's what I did :

I moved those new freeware plugins into the same folder with those 3 DEMO plugins that were in LIVE since day1 ..
then I selected that exact folder in LIVE's VST Plug Ins PREFERENCES and nothing...... I dunno what I'm doing wrong ... I got 4 diff. plugins from different sites off a link obtained in this forum.. I asume they are good for LIVE6... I toook 4 from differnt sites so I presume it's me not the plug ins..


But what it is I'm not doing right I dont get it..
