Howdy,
I was wondering if anybody can help me out here. I run Live8 on a fairly new macbook (cheapest white version) plugged into an lcd screen, speakers, keyboard etc.
It seems that the more clips, tracks, samples and loops I have in the project the more laggy it gets. Ie. you launch a scene and it skips and jumps and crackles a bit and then will work ok after that. So when i'm about to jam a song I now launch each scene and clip to get that initial lag out of the way, then I can usually launch everything without a lag after that.
The rolling beachball icon is also a frequent appearance when doing things like hotswapping and adding effects when the track is playing (and sometimes when it isn't). And it's not like I have a million things in the project, usually like 12 tracks and maybe 8 or 9 scenes but i'm afraid to add more because I don't think my comp will handle it.
Is my macbook just too shit? I would be keen to gig with my ableton setup sometime in the future but I definitely wouldn't bother it with all this lagging going on.
Any help would be great!
Phil

Re: Lagging problems
Hi Phil,
it would be good to known what your Liveset exactly contains. Do you use 3rd party plug-ins? Please contact [email protected], attach a problematic .als file.
Best,
Jörg
