Programme change messages- how do you send them to vsts's?

Post by sineman » Sun Apr 10, 2005 11:22 am

Anyone know how I can send a programme change messages to my Korg Ms20 VST so that the next clip in my arrangement plays a different one of my own saved patches to the one before it. No quite sure how to set it up.

:D

Think I've answered my own question already- manuals are great!

It seems you just type in the no. of the programme you want in the appropriate box in the clip view and the bank no. (although there's only 1 for the ms20). I think you have to overwrite 1 of the programmes with your edited version on the ms20 (and remember to save the bank or programme if you don't want to lose it all) and then you just enter that no in the programme box.

Just started having a play with the imposcar but can't work out how to save an edited programme, any ideas?

I think you have to make the clip start a bit before the actual midi note otherwise it doesn't seem to trigger properly.

How about changing presets on a VST or AU effect on a send?

Can I set up a controller or have a sequence on, for eg, Ohmboys?

Not sure about changing effect presets? Would you just have a couple of instances of the same effect and automate turning them on and off so you have the preset you want when you want it, or just turn up/down the respective wet/ dry's ?
