Downsampling loops within Ableton?

Post by Slapdash » Tue Apr 20, 2010 1:25 pm

I create a sampled loop from an mp3, and it sounds way too clean. I've heard that switching it down to a 16 or even 8bit sample can give a lovely grimey or crusty sound to the sample....

Can I do this quickly from within Ableton or do i have to export, downsample, save and re-import?

and if you set up your waveeditor in live, you don't need to export and import, you just "edit", and it opens in the editor of your choice.
