Recording direct drom DVD player into sound card. HELP

Post by A-Plus » Mon Apr 11, 2005 4:19 am

ok, so I posted a thread previously about recording DVDs into live.

I managed to half figure it out.

So ai have RCA to 1/4" cable running from the DVD player into my M-Audio Delta 1010 sound card.

I can record the audio from the DVD into a Audio Clip, but it is only recording onto the right side.

I have tested the cable and it is ok. What is the problem? how can I get it to record into stereo????

Please help.

I think I had the same problem a while back. If memory serves me right it was because I was using a mono 1/4" adapter instead of stereo.

If your adapter only has one black ring on it it is mono. If it has two it is stereo.

I know there are tons of plain old audio rippers for dvds, but I've never been able to find one that would just pull a small sample from one. I don't really want to rip an entire movie to get 3 words out of it. Can anyone make a recommendation for a good ripping prog that'll let you rip a small segment instead of the whole movie? I'm on a PC but I'm sure others are interested in a mac one too.
