iPad DJ Chick
Re: iPad DJ Chick
Typical for all the haters to jump on this with all their comments!
"Real DJs use vinyl"
"DJ=Disc Jockey. She's not using discs, so she's not a DJ"
Etc. etc.
They're all youngsters as well, that weren't even born when vinyl was king.
Personally, I love seeing women who know their technology.

not trying to hate, but honestly it sounds like she knows what she's talking about.. but in practice it appears the opposite.102455 wrote:Personally, I love seeing women who know their technology.
Re: iPad DJ Chick
In practice? shes talking all the time while flipping through, and demoing, different apps. I think shes doing a hell of a job! I can beat mix 4 vinyl decks at the same time, so what? But im not very good at talking while show casing gear. Not at all.cotdagoo wrote:not trying to hate, but honestly it sounds like she knows what she's talking about.. but in practice it appears the opposite.102455 wrote:Personally, I love seeing women who know their technology.

Re: iPad DJ Chick
DJ meaning 'Demo' Jockey , right ?
Re: iPad DJ Chick
i dunno, i guess stuff like crossfading to nothing, saying she uses logic while live is open, having 2 sources going at the same time that sounds like shit/aren't beatmatched..just pitching the track currently playing down 10bpm to mix with the next track? etc is what i was talking about.. i'm sure she's talented thoughze2be wrote:In practice? shes talking all the time while flipping through, and demoing, different apps. I didn't for one second think she was talking about Live, nor trying to entertain a dancing audience.cotdagoo wrote:i dunno, i guess stuff like crossfading to nothing, saying she uses logic while live is open, having 2 sources going at the same time that sounds like shit/aren't beatmatched..just pitching the track currently playing down 10bpm to mix with the next track? etc is what i was talking about.. i'm sure she's talented though
But hey, what do I know!
So what do you guys think about her outfit, was it pro enough?

Re: iPad DJ Chick
Typical, I was watching the video, thinking the girls seemed sweet, and down to earth.
She mentions that she isn't cueing anything through these crazy things called headphones DJs use, so you'll hear all the mistakes etc.
but all you critics seemed to have conveniently missed that.
Hit backspace to the forums and it's as usual, a bunch of catty bullshit instead of chat about the technology.
Have to admit that the iPad is looking better as a semi smart multi touch controller. Maybe it'll be in revision 2 with mature apps by the
time I can afford one.

Re: iPad DJ Chick
It seemed like the latency on the iPad was a bit much but maybe I was hallucinating. Also, would anyone want to play a big room off the headphone jacks? That's going to sound terrible...even with that super deluxe $100 mixer.

Re: iPad DJ Chick
She honestly looked like she was digging it. That's all that matters.

Re: iPad DJ Chick
Did she even use the mixer properly at all? I stopped watching right after she lowered the level on the iPad, instead of the mixer and then muted it completely by moving the crossfader all the way to the left.
I do like the idea of a combination of iPads and a mixer, but they need a program like ProteinDS to run properly on the iPad.
