MIDI sequences creating "ghost" notes when sending to slave

Post by psherburne » Sun Apr 10, 2005 10:34 pm

I'm using a MIDI sequence written in a clip, sending that to a Korg Electribe MX (the blue one) synthesizer patch.

The problem is that the monophonic sequence I've written will play normally for a few bars, and then the Korg starts inserting a "ghost" pedal tone - there's no note written for it, but it begins adding a note where there should be rests. It's kind of a cool effect, but it happens totally inconsistently, and I'd love to know how to control it. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

Thanks
Philip

Yeah, we were getting that tonight. We were sitting there concentrating on effecting the sequence perfectly, then all of the sudden we heard this little MEEP and started cracking up.

It was pretty funny, but still kinda sucky! I was thinking it has something to do with the MIDI cables being next to a whole mess of other cables.

Did you check that no information is recorded in the arrangement view?
