Germans: How's the comedy club scene?

Post by beats me » Tue Apr 27, 2010 3:45 pm

I'm thinking it's nonexistent but I am highly ignorant. I don't understand a word of German but if there's links to some good German standup post it. I'm thinking it's going to be surreal like watching a David Lynch movie.

Don't know Jimmy Carr or Derry. Does he do his comedy in German?

Surely there's a Ha Ha Bunker or some such place in Germany. Post it!

Alrighty then. Looks like my original assumption was correct that Germany is completely void of current topical humor. What a sad place.

Great cars, music software but humor if at all is so primitive ( not even vulgar just crude devoid of any intelligence) you cant even call it humour. Most of intelligent Germans love, enjoy UK humor,US is less known though MTV was showing regularly David Chapelle , proletariat likes local retards like Mario Bart who actually broke world records doing sport venues etc , he is crude, and not funny unless you have IQ under 30.

Even worse than Barth is the fact that many think Dieter Nuhr is a cabaret artist. Middle-class idiocy at its best.

I'll admit I haven't checked very recently,
but surely it canot be that bad?

What about that thign that was touring , ehm was it nightwash?
at least some good people performed there, no?

And Fatih Cevikkolu had his own thing?
ehm, (oh brain why are you so dying, GIMF.... aHA)

But yeah, such a lot of it is utterly horrible,
Mario Barth being the embodiment of all that is bad about german "comedy" brrrrrrr

what is good about germans beeing funny is maybe more often found
at poetry slams these days, like Sebastian 23

well, germany is at least home to H. Schneider - he is to comedy what Thelonious Monk is to Jazz.

(I mean you asked for David Lynch, didn't you? )

Yeah. Boring bastards even took down all the Hitler parodies based on Downfall.

So it is now verboten for even non Germans to be funny in German.

No wait. There is one left. Enjoy it while you can.

Thanks for the video examples. Since I don't understand a word of German everything they say sounds like it's of utmost importance and seriousness and then people laugh. Awesome! :)

Love the Downfall parodies too. I really enjoyed the original movie as well, and I don't mean that in a "I support Hitler" type way. He just really had it all going on with the evil loon thing.
