Actually, I just realized I can make my ip not change at all by setting it manually which is perfect since that eliminates the need to do any network setup every time you want to use it. This is really amazing. The improvements in the latest update are really great. I still haven't gotten my head around what the fold/unfold in the sequencer is doing since it doesn't seem to do anything to the fold button in Live. Doesn't matter though. It's still the best Live controller I've ever used!

Is it possible to get the labels on the step sequencer tracks? I know when you are mashing individual steps you can get the note to show up.. but how's about a small label on the left hand side?

Keep up the great work ST8!

When pressing down (or up, left, right) in the clip launcher the box moves to the next page instead of next line. Is this intentional?
In device control, it wuold be nice if the knobs which have no parameter assigned could be grey.
Same for the clip launcher, I'd like empty slots to be grey.

The mixer with track levels looks great (levels are bit lagging); I would insert transport controls and move the overdub button in there.

Finally, Live is really slow when selecting the Livecontrol_TO in the control surfaces menu in ableton.

tested with Live 8.1.1.

GREAT WORK :)
Ok ive added most of those feature requests. Ive also upped the refresh rate of the script a lot, this should make the meter levels and sequencer much less laggy and hence more usable. Lockable device control and xy pads are next on the list!

The installer worked great on MBP 10.5.8 with Live 8.1.3 on an iphone. No noticeable latency. Both regular network and ad-hoc network works fine. I'm going to stick with the ad-hoc network since my router seems to change my ip from time to time on the regular network.

I have a question about the sequencer. I have it working great except fold/unfold doesn't seem to do anything, and the it only seems to work when it is on unfold (as far as note input being registered; with fold on it seems notes do not stick into the pattern; also switching between fold/unfold seems to reset where I was vertically in the pattern). Am I missing something about how fold/unfold is supposed to work?

Otherwise, it's amazing to have a Beatmaker-style step sequencer for Live. It's nice having another step sequencer with a different approach than the one in Maschine.
Fold will only work when you have some notes in your track, it should then collapse down to only the used notes (like using fold in live)

Trying your latest installer.
Loving the clip status indicators!

found that the label of the "all clip stop" button changes to one of the track names (did it once)

mixer view would be great with the correct channel names instead of tr1, tr2, tr3....
Could you use a clipping led instead of level meters? Maybe that would be more accurate and lighter on touchosc ?

Can you please explain how the reset send/pan/vol buttons in track control view work ?

In mixer view: I would put Left/Right buttons on top, just where they are in other views.

THANK YOU

Does the latest template not show tracknames on the mixer? It does on my ipod, will have to check the ipad template.
It should be easy to add a clipping led.

The track resets are as follows:
for volume, when lit the track is at default volume, if not lit, press the button to return volume to default
for pan, same as volume
for sends, when all sends are zero the button is lit, if not one or more sends is in use, press the button to reset all sends to zero.

Well, I've managed to get it up and running sort of. TouchOSC can see all of the Live parameters, but none of the buttons on TouchOSC do anything in Live. I have the red box, any clips or devices that I add to Live are shown on TouchOSC, but TouchOSC itself doesn't seem to be sending a signal.

This is awesome! Thanks so much. For the record, I love the simple colored controls. Software definitely does not need to emulate the styling of hardware equipment. This is easy to see and easy on the eyes as well. My only request as others have stated is that the clip color be reflected, but obviously this is up to Hexler/TouchOSC.

I still cannot get the sequencer to work right, but thats still fine with me. I find it really useful even on my iPhone, but of course, now I may get a iPad if even just for this.

One other thing. I find the macro "knobs" a little too sensitive. Barely touching it sends wild values. Is there a scale/speed to this available anywhere?

@exper
whats up with the sequencer? not working at all?

Ive not actually asked him about assignable colours, though hes not been very responsive on email lately :)

i need to get hold of an iPad so i can properly test the template, im just expecting it to work based on the iPhone template at the moment ;)

does anyone know if there's a way to automatically create an ad-hoc network on the mac, and have it use the same IP every time?

i'd rather not have to rely on the sometimes flaky router to connect, and just go direct, but to do this means having to first create the network, then open LiveControl.app and set up the new IP and config, then type the new IP into iTouch. bit of a pain to do every time i want to use LiveControl :?

if there's an easier way to use adhoc, please do tell

cheers!

also, the on/off for devices in the Device tab isnt working properly now - it needs two taps to change the on/off state. its behaving similarly to how buttons act when you set them to toggle in Live's custom automap scripts.

You can try binding to the bonjour host names instead, ive not tried it personally but it may work. So for local say st8s-macbook.local. and for your ipod ipod.local. (you'll have to find out the real names)

I'll look into the device control, must have broken something

just want to say thanks for this. I am using the installers, working good so far. props.

One question? what do the side faders do on the first page, on my machine it controls nothing? any intention or left un-mapped on purpose?
