manual repair (for missing media files) doesn't work

I've got a project that has drum loops that used to be in a different folder. I reorganized all of my sample loop folders and then went back to an old song. The drum loops come up missing... fine. So I go to Manage the missing files, set the directory, but the file manager skips right past them. I also cannot use manual repair, nor hot swap. Nothing works.

Anyone have ideas? Would very much like to avoid rebuilding all of my loop edits.
