I installed it with quite a few expectations, opened up the last live set, noticed the CPU over 80% and froze one track. Crash. Very first action, crash :?

Guess it's time to send bug reports again :(
What you were freezing BTW?
An instrument rack containing Sylenth and two Operators.
FWIW, I've noticed a lot of posts about Sylenth crashing Live... I don't even know what it is, I just keep hearing about it in this context. unless they were all yours  I think there may be an issue with it and Live not playing nicely...

Really? I have never experienced ANY issues with Sylenth. I had tons of problems with NI plugins (crashing Live when switching presets) but NEVER (not in a single case) had a crash where Sylenth was involved (as far as I can assess).
All Live crashes I remember were when:
- switching presets on NI plugins
- duplicating/inserting tracks
- duplicating/inserting clips
- freezing/rendering

yeah, no joke. I've seen more than one mention of it. I only remember because I've wondered what it is, but have never actually bothered to go so far as googling it. I know there was one guy who had it bad and was really pissed. I'd provide links but I don't even remember the topics other than "L8 sucks cuz" or some such...

let me search around. I don't want to lead you astray, but my first thought when I read that in your post was... "another one".

Here's a few. There's more, but I'm finding a lot where people say they have it in their sigs or in posts... which by contrast probably means its working for more people than not, but the same could be said about Live 8 :?

really happy with 8.1.3

it makes me go on with it and I slowly don't care anymore about the backward saving uncompatibility with 8.0.x

from the day 8.1.3 is out, I had no crashes with it, on the other hand, I had 3 crashes with 7.0.18...
who said live7 was rock solid?

Just be aware that you will lose some min/max map setting for VSTs

I had 2 crashes like within seconds of opening it the first time, and also then after about 10 minutes. Since then no crashes whatsoever. As always though I find the CPU usage from send FX to be over the top! Not sure what it is about ableton and sends but it happens on every computer I have used Live on. Especially Nebula and Duende Plugins.

With Nebula its even more apparent on the Master Buss for some reason, though with Nebula I only have it installed on 1 machine, so i cant validate the finding for other setups!

All in all I am more happy so far with the state of live!

ive only had 1 crash, but finally the dreaded copying a 3rd party plugin from one trk to the next trk incidents (crashes) are over.

I was really nervous about using 8.1.3 too (been sticking with 8.0.9).... But so far, it's been running fine on my XP and Win-7 machines.

I'm very sorry to say, I've not had as many problems with any other version of Live.

I'm mostly having problems when editing audio loops during playback in session view, especially when editing envelopes.

I've had:
2 crashes in 24 hours.
Phasing/doubling problems when changing pitch or envelopes during playback.
Sample Offset not working properly.
Weird screen flickers during warping.

Also, Live NEVER seems to find the start of the first beat in any sample but this is something I've learned to live with.

I definitely would not use this version for a Live gig. (Actually, I'm still using version 7 for gigs)
