Why dont you guys focus more on making fx boxes for audio use. I love me some amplitube - would be great to see a synth orientated version. i know you can run synths through it but I reckon a snyth / keys specific one would go down a treat. . .

They announced the new product: "Amplitube iRig"!

It is a guitar interface adapter and an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad app.

Looks like a lot fun! Also looks like I will finally buy an iTouch!

So, I can now run amplitube on my iPhone but it still uses a huge amount of processor cycles on my octocore mac.

It slays my core 2 duo - more than a few instances and it's pretty much game over.


So, am interested - how does this iphone thing sound in comparison? if it runs on an iphone surely it can't be no good.

And, if it's the same then why is amplitube so damn inefficient on my mac?

Fair question.

* I do not work for IK Multimedia.
* I like IKM products (a lot).
* When you promote group buys (especially IK group buys) everyone gets more stuff as the group buy grows.
* My IK group buy posts are also helpful in getting eSoundz referral points (I want some Ocean Way drums).
* IK has had quite a few exciting/interesting things to talk about over the past few months.
* It's fun to talk about stuff you and other people might be interested in.

I don't think that saying it surely can't be any good just because it is on iPhone is entirely fair. We strive for the best possible sound on the platforms we develop on and have achieved that here too. It may not be a 1:1 port of AmpliTube 3 but it sounds great and I can't wait to see the comparisons to other similar software on iPhone once released.

Well guitarists used zoom boxes for years and thought they were great! So I guess for a certani portion of the market (kids, teenagers etc) it's probably perfect. .
